Art Deco Sterling Silver Natural Rock Crystal Bead Carved Onyx Necklace
While there are elements of this Art Deco necklace that are quite classical (like organic patterning combined with geometric shapes), this 1920's piece has striking features that make its design unique. Marble orb beads of natural rock crystal feel weighty, yet smooth and cool around your neck, with a luminous light that leads the eye down to the detailed pendant. A floral sterling silver setting frames faceted rock crystal that was inset into hand carved onyx. While the textural design is hard to see at first, it a sweet and finely carved pattern of flowers. The inky black onyx sets off the clarity and light of the crystal even further creating a dynamic Art Deco silhouette.
The Finer Points Excellent Condition. This piece is fresh looking and must have been tucked away and well taken care of as the minor amounts of wear are noticeable only on close inspection.

Collector Guide On Uncommon Pieces
Uncommon antique and vintage pieces are often highly collectable because you are not likely to find another one. While some uncommon pieces have garnered a cult following, others are so uncommon that they do not have a large fanbase. The latter type may not be considered collectables, but they are lovely, one-of-a-kind finds.
On Handmade or Hand-Carved Jewelry
Handmade or hand-carved jewelry is valued because it is, by default, one of a kind. Unlike machine-made pieces, a handmade piece can never be replicated in the exact same way, and so they will always reveal the at-the-moment intent of the individual maker. Often, the pieces have a distinctively visceral feel, as though you can sense the painstaking labor that went into every aspect.
